I am currently working in Marketing. I have recently attended a conference on SEO stuff that has inspired me to learn and find out more about what is happening on the web, hence I may as well start a blog!

Loving it, agree totally with the acorns into trees quote. Never be afraid to take a chance and stick your neck on the line if you truly believe it will pay off.
Hi there,
Just to say that it is nice to see a well balanced blog out there, about the IOM.
Involved as I am in Freedom to Flourish, I feel we have a collective responsibility to try and portray the Island positively, while also recognising we have a lot to work on – I guess that is what branding is.
I thought your comments on the CiM presentation I gave in March 2007 were fair and very well balanced.
There is an issue with ‘publicising’ F2F, but on the other hand, it is a really fine balancing act. My personal concern prior to becoming involved back in Sept 2006, was that a country brand should be a gentle implementation. I think that is especially true in the IOM where we aren’t renowned for self-aggrandisement and rhetoric.
As such there has been an element of keeping it low-key, and focussing on the REAL delivery so that people can discover it and claim ownership. As such, it is starting to work as something that is accepted, and does influence a great deal of Govt and private sector activity.
Imagine if we had gone very high profile with this – I think it would have rapidly descended into something to ridicule rather than support.
We are reaching a critical mass of organisations and people who recognise the benefit of having a unique identity which we can use to both market ourselves and enhance social cohesion – and protect our uniqueness in an increasingly globalised world.
The next phase of the strategy is to get the message out to the rest of the world.
I believe in what we are doing and am happy to talk to anyone about it, so please do get in touch if you wish.
In any case, keep up the good work with an informative blog!
Best wishes
Alistair Audsley
