5 Reasons why I haven’t posted!

I have to put the lack of blog posts down to several reasons really summed up here.

1. It’s the summer – well kind of and I have better things to do outside like BBQ!

2. I have been incredibly busy – well I was until the beginning of July anyway.

3.  I am a bit addicted to Twitter.

4. I just haven’t felt the need.

5. Writing posts can be hard work and I just got lazy!

Well now that summer has ended and the nights are drawing in the post frequency might now increase!

Why 3 in every 10 Manx drivers are idiots!

I have been running too and from work lately, partly to keep fit, lose weight and save a bit of cash. Yes that’s me!.
I have been really enjoying it, but something really gets to me.

My route takes me up and down Richmond Hill and I am sure every local would agree that the road is not ideal. What really gets me is on the way home about 5.20pm – 5.30pm the amount of drivers that are absolutely flooring it up there on the “dual carriageway” / overtaking lane like complete arseholes to only get one or two cars ahead of the queue. Bearing in mind that it is probably the only place you can overtake on your route south (well at that time of day anyway) I reckon that would lesson your journey time by about 15 seconds! Wow that was really worth it wasn’t it!

The thing is the number of people who do this is pretty staggering, well I think so anyway. I have been doing a rough count to distract me from the fatigue and I reckon it is roughly three cars for every ten. And just to please all you motorbike riders, you are pure angels, believe me!

Sort it out people. I am quite happy for you idiots to kill yourselves, just don’t get me or any other driver at the same time!

And I think I have been quite restrained writing this so consider yourselves lucky. You know who you are!

Tony Brown – why is he smiling? Isle of Man poster campaign!

February 21, 2009
Why you smiling Tony Brown?

Why you smiling Tony Brown?

I was driving back from a meeting this morning and was stopped at the traffic lights. I noticed  by the side of the road a poster campaign that has sprouted up around the Isle of Man.

You see Tony,  I would guess that in the current economic climate you have to be 100% transparent and it won’t do your popularity on the Isle of Man any good if your not seen to be practicing what you preach in terms of government spending!

Maybe you don’t care, after all when your term is up you can sit back with a nice little pension and enjoy the finer things the Isle of Man.

You have to laugh!

Plasa 2008 at Earls Court London

September 19, 2008

I was over in London recently and was lucky enough to get a free complimentary invite from the guys at Projection Advertising.

The venue was packed full of the latest lighting rigs, stage lighting and sound kit some of which was used at the recent Bejing Olympics. What I was really interest in was the projection advertising and loved this as well as the whispering windows. I have to say best of all was the Fog Screen Projection which was very impressive and hadn’t ever seen before.

Check out some of the footage in the video.

Busy Day

May 28, 2008

Can’t tell you everything I did today! Nothing dodgy, but the great manx grapevine might get wind and then the curtains would come down.

A typical day!

A typical day!

One thing I can say is that I have not stopped today. The reason, not sure, I have several theories:

1. I take on too much work.

2. I am disorganised, but I really don’t think I am!

3. Technology – you feel like your always being pestered and bombarded with information from phone calls, texts, emails and therefore your head just gets full.

4. I have two kids under two and a half.

5. I don’t often say ‘no’.

6. I am not really having a busy day, everyone else is just more laid back than me? mmm good theory but I doubt it.

7. I had a full nights sleep and therefore the space/time continuem was out of sync with my sleep pattern and I just couldn’t function normally!

I just dont know, one thing is for sure, it aint gonna go away!

Well may be a little seen as I am off for TT week. Come on sun you know you want to!

Isle of Man Freedom to Flourish

March 20, 2007

Another event to I headed off to after a busy day on the Isle of Man was the Chartered Institute of Marketing event being held at the Hilton hotel Douglas. This evenings event was focused on the Isle of Man’s branding initiative ‘Freedom to Flourish’. The event was well supported by around fifty of the Isle of Mans marketing fraternity where they viewed a presentation by Alistar Audsley on the progress of the Isle of Man’s ‘Freedom to Flourish’ campaign.
