Just bought a barbecue today, put it together, bought loads of charcoal and now the weathers crap!
Typical british bank holiday!
Lets hope the weather picks up and I can enjoy the sun, TT 2008 and some great manx lamb burgers and seafood kebabs!

I dont know what it is about our culture in the UK but we just can’t cope with snow in any shape, form or amount! It’s caused chaos already and it hasn’t really snowed that much. Go to Europe or the US for example and they all seem to cope just fine with several inches or even when they are a few feet deep in the stuff! Hasn’t snowed yet much here on the Isle of Man but they reckon tonight is the night! Let it snow let it snow let it snow!

Had a sleepless night last night as storm force winds battered Santon and the Isle of Man. Had a check about this morning and found the wheelie bin at the top of the street! Damage sustained to one of our cars as well! I think the wheelie bin in all its excitement has collided with the wing mirror as it bounced up the street! No slates off the roof, but I have heard that there is a lot of debris and trees down on the roads and conditions are trecherous. Oh well not to worry, worse is to come and snow by the weekend!

I am no photographer and I don’t have the best of cameras, but I caught this picture of the sky last evening looking over to South Barrule and and the Sloc from Santon last night.

I know we are in the middle of January but it just seems to have been raining here on the Isle of Man now for days, and its not just that fine rain thats soaks you through, its been tipping it down! I wonder if its been the same around the UK or if there is a black cloud hovering over the Isle of Man? Roll on the spring and summer! mmmmm just thinking maybe I suffer from SAD?
Or if I am just sad?

Despite being continually battered by the wind last night there was no evident damage to my house this morning. The gale force winds continue to batter the Isle of Man and northwest with reports of gusts up to 105 mph!I have had broken sleep during the night due to the noise so I don’t think today will be too productive!

I was traveling home from work this evening from Douglas heading south and got caught up in some freak manx weather! The wind and rain was absolutely blowing hard and coming down. A Police car whizzed past me and I had to turn back before Richmond Hill as there had been some kind of accident. I have since heard that a tree had blown down apparently struck by lightning! I arrived home to find my wheelie bin dancing around my driveway and due to the direction of the wind and rain water was coming driving in under my front door! Bring on the summer thats what I say!
